Mt. Seonun & Seonun Temple
Mt. Oksunbong Peak: 938 ft above see level
2.8 miles & 2.5 hrs hiking (3.6 mile & 3.5 hrs)
Mt. Seonun is a noted attraction that is called Inner Geumgang of Honam, and was designated as a provincial park in 1979. Mt. Seonun is also called Mt. Dosol. “Seonun” means meditating in clouds and “Dosol” means Dosol Paradise of Buddha. Therefore, both Mt. Seonun and Mt. Dosol mean that it is a mountain of meditation.
As many bizarre-looking rocks are forming peaks here and there, the mountain has a beautiful landscape and luxurious forests. A 1,000-year-old temple, Seonun Temple, is located amongst this beautiful landscape.
Seonun Temple is the main temple that was established by Great Priest Geomdan.
